Which vehicles currently qualify for the Clean Vehicle Credit?
The Clean Vehicle Credit is a government incentive designed to promote the adoption of electric vehicles by providing a financial benefit to consumers. This credit now offers money back to individuals who purchase an eligible electric vehicle at the time of purchase at participating dealerships, encouraging more people to choose sustainable transportation options. By reducing the upfront cost of electric vehicles, the tax credit aims to make clean transportation more accessible and appealing to a wider range of consumers. Because of the battery mineral sourcing requirements coming online on January 1st, the list of vehicles that qualified was reduced significantly. However, the list has grown and changed since the first day of the year.
In addition, we have a thorough review of the credit and how it works from a recorded webinar, which included guest speakers Dr. Elaine Buckberg and Congressman Paul Tonko. You can view the recording using the button below.
As of now, there are fifteen full EV models that qualify for the credit, as well as six plug in hybrids (PHEVs).
