Opposing the CRA on CA Waivers
What
California exerted its right to ban the sale of gasoline-powered vehicles by 2035. The authority to do this comes from special privileges provided by the 1970 Clean Air Act.
Senate Republicans intended to introduce a measure by the end of April revoking that ban.
The measure that is intended to be introduced is allowed by the Congressional Review Act, a 1996 law that allows congress to overturn certain federal agency actions.
The EVA supports California’s right to regulate its air according to the 1970s Clean Air Act, and supports its right to ban the sale of gasoline-powered vehicles by 2035.
The EVA asks its membership and like-minded enthusiasts to write their US Representatives to oppose the CRA that would overturn California’s waiver granted under the Clean Air Act.
