More Drive Electric Earth Day events than ever before; EVA chapters get funding
It’s looking like a very successful Drive Electric Earth Day (DEED) is on the horizon, with a record 180 events taking place throughout April.
“This truly remarkable number reflects the growing level of interest for EVs in the US and around the world,” said Electric Vehicle Association President Elaine Borseth, who urged all to view the event’s very impressive kick-off video.
Electrify America funds events
Borseth said she is proud of all of our EVA chapters and happy to see four chapters—Shasta Electric Vehicle Association, EAA San Joaquin Valley, TEVA of North Carolina, and Drive Electric Dayton—receive $3000 each in monetary support for their DEED events from Electrify America.
In addition to the Electric Vehicle Association, this year’s event is presented by Plug In America, Sierra Club, and EV Hybridnoire. The Platinum Level sponsor this year is Wells Fargo, the Silver Level is Normal Now, and the Bronze Level is Edison International. Community Partners include Climate Action Reserve, Forth, and Virginia Clean Cities.
Scheduled gatherings range from the Virgin Islands EV Association’s EV Rally in St. Thomas, to an EV Show and Tell in Waco with our Heart of Texas chapter and an EV Earth Day in Alaska with Juneau EVA. Our chapters are busy!
Register for DEED and you may be eligible to win a $250 gift card from Plug In America. With volunteers needed nationwide, all EVA members are urged to sign-up to help out.
