The American Resilience Project focuses on EVs and the electric grid

Film and video productions to be used as policy advocacy and public education tools can be very effective if created with maximum dramatic impact. The American Resilience Project (ARP) uses visual media to harness the power of strategic narratives to address the greatest threats to human security and civilizational stability.

ARP’s latest offering, Workforce Rising, was directed by EVA member Roger Sorkin, and executive produced by Scottsdale, Arizona EVA Chapter President John Martinson, who is also on ARP’s Advisory Council. 

Part of the organization’s Current Revolution: A film series for energy transition, it deals with the need for an expanding workforce and more infrastructure around going electric.

“We hope our work will help convene utilities, PSCs and other policymakers around using their own funds and policies to maximize bipartisan infrastructure bill spending,” said Sorkin. “This would hopefully include the building of more charging infrastructure and develop the workforce required to install and maintain it.”

From transforming the electric grid to adapting to sea level rise to strengthening food security and increasing civic engagement, ARP’s work is used to educate, organize and mobilize diverse audiences. The non-profit organization is based in Northampton, MA.
