Automakers Step Forward to Build Out EV Charging Network
A shot in the arm for EV adoption.
According to the Associated Press, General Motors, BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes, and Stellantis partner to build a minimum of 1,500 EV charging stations across the U.S. and Canada.
In the most recent GM earnings call, Mary Barra, CEO, announced a next-gen Bolt is coming.
The announcement is a surprise, as the automaker aims for profitability with the sub-compact. However, the updated Bolt may not be here until 2025 since GM will cut new product investment through 2024. Moreover, no specific launch date was announced during the call.
Tesla Reduces Price on Model 3
Tesla makes room for the new Model 3, called the Highland Project.
The Model 3 now starts at $37,940 without federal or state incentives. The new version of the Model 3 is rumored to be coming later this year in China first, then the U.S.

Stellantis wants to support 25 new EVs by the end of the decade.
Stellantis and Samsung have announced a second gigafactory plant planned for 2027. Currently, Stellantis and Samsung are building a gigafactory plant in Kokomo, Ind. The Indiana plant will go live in the first-quarter of 2025.
