Hertz Adding New EVs to Fleet
With the introduction of the Tesla Model 3 and Polestar 2, Hertz set themselves apart in the rental car space by offering EVs as another option in the fleet for those looking for an alternative fuel vehicle when traveling. Now, they have nearly 50,000 EVs in their fleets. With the two vehicles being well received by customers, Hertz is set to launch more EVs to rent very soon; this time from GM.
Hertz and GM are set to launch the Cadillac Lyriq and Chevrolet Silverado EV as options later in 2023 and 2024. While information on exact dates isn’t available, the Lyriq is already in production, so it’s likely to come first. GM’s had numerous delays to their EV rollout which has impacted timelines repeatedly (the initial Hertz order was from September of last year) but hopefully we’ll see some improvements as they start to deliver more Ultium vehicles.
