You’re invited to the East Coast Electric Vehicle Round Up
UPDATE: Unfortunately this event was canceled due to health restrictions.
The Three Rivers Electric Vehicle Association (Three Rivers EVA) in Western Pennsylvania is inviting all Electric Auto Association members to its 10th annual East Coast Electric Vehicle Round Up and Alternative Energy Car Show, part of the Mother Earth News Fair.
The Fair will take place September 17 - 19 at the Seven Springs Mountain Resort, about an hour southeast of Pittsburgh. It is a sustainable lifestyle event packed with workshops and demonstrations on renewable energy, small-scale farming, homesteading, natural health, and organic gardening. Attendees can interact with a host of well-known experts in the world of sustainability.
Do you have an alternative energy vehicle?
The Three Rivers chapter is looking for vehicles powered by vegetable oil, ethanol, wood gas, compressed air, steam, or converted electric vehicles (EVs). They can include cars, trucks, bicycles, or lawn tractors.
“We already have 25 types of EVs signed up for the show this year,” said Bonnie Belak of the Three Rivers EVA. “It is great to see all the major brands, but we’re hoping to get some really unique or one-of-a-kind models for this tenth anniversary.”
Participants can register to exhibit their alternative energy vehicle and can display them on one or all three days.
Those wishing to donate to the Three Rivers effort are encouraged to purchase an event shirt. The ordering deadline is Monday, August 23.
Charging is easy
Seven Springs Mountain Resort provides charging via 110 charging cords with regular Type B (three-prong) style plugs, as well as 220 charging cords with a 50 amp connection and a 14-50 style plug. Tesla Superchargers are also available in nearby Somerset.
Attendees are invited to group dinners each night after the fair closes. Most stay in nearby Somerset at one of these hotels or campgrounds.
“Given that we’re on top of a mountain in the Laurel Highlands in the fall we recommend you plan for a bit of rain,” Belak said.
Mother Earth News Fair will be following Seven Springs Covid-19 guidelines.
