Kia
Working hard toward seven new cars
Kia was spotted earlier in the summer testing its first next-gen dedicated electric vehicle (EV), in line with the automaker’s announcement that it plans to launch seven new EVs by 2027, including three crossovers and a compact. Kia also plans to install 500 new charging stations in North America.
Jeep
Going toward electric
Fiat Chrysler has introduced Jeep’s first entry into the plug-in market with the gas-electric hybrid Wrangler 4xe. The company also promised to roll out all-electric versions of the SUV in upcoming years.
Volkswagen

The filing of a new trademark in Europe under the name ‘e-Thing’ was seen as a hint that the automaker may be developing an off-road vehicle.
Nissan
At the ready LEAF for emergency situations
The introduction of the RE-LEAF concept, with the ‘RE” standing for ‘response, recovery, and resilience’, is Nissan’s way of showing the versatility of EVs in responding to emergencies. In addition to the car’s bidirectional charging, good for home power outages, it has larger tires and a raised suspension for traversing debris.
General Motors
Partnering with Nikola for pick-up duties
GM has announced a $2 billion EV partnership with Nikola to build the Phoenix, Arizona start-up’s Badger, an electric and hydrogen fuel cell pickup truck. It is expected to be in production by the end of 2022.
Porsche
Moveable charge feast
The concept for a mobile charging solution that can charge 10 electric cars at once has been unveiled by Porsche. Housed in a trailer, it relies on a 2.1 MWh Megapack-like battery
EV adoption
San Jose knows the way
EV sales on the west coast for 2019 were 3.5 times the national U.S. average, and San Jose, where 20% of auto sales are electric, topped the charts. With 320,000 new sales, the U.S. market was in third place, following China and U.S.
